TekChat Child Safety Standards
TekChat maintains a zero tolerance policy towards child sexual abuse and exploitation material (CSAE/CSAM). This page explains how TekChat protects child safety and how concerns can be reported.
1. Age Limit
TekChat is for users aged 18 and over only. Date of birth is requested at sign-up; accounts found to belong to someone under 18 are closed.
2. Zero Tolerance Policy
TekChat strictly prohibits any content, conduct or activity on its platform involving the sexual abuse or exploitation of children. When such material or behaviour is detected, the account concerned is immediately and permanently closed and the content is removed from the system.
3. Prevention and Detection
- Age verification: Date of birth is mandatory at sign-up; accounts identified as under 18 cannot be created, or are closed when detected.
- Human moderation: User reports and ban appeals are reviewed by our authorised moderator/admin team through an in-app management panel.
- Community rules: Messaging and matches between users are reviewed against the app rules upon report; accounts found in breach face action up to and including a ban.
4. Reporting Mechanism
Users can report any user or message directly through the app using the in-app report / block features. Reports are reviewed by our moderation team, and where necessary actions such as account bans and content removal are applied.
If you have an urgent child safety concern, you can contact us directly at the email address below.
5. Legal Compliance and Reporting to Authorities
When TekChat identifies child sexual abuse material (CSAM), it reports it to the relevant national and regional authorities in accordance with applicable law (including, where required for US-based platforms, the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children — NCMEC) and cooperates with the authorities during investigations.
